I am writing this to give the highest recommendation to Mike Plotkowski, real estate agent extraordinaire. He knows the Bay Area real estate market inside out - both as second generation in real estate - he grew up learning the business at his father's knee - and as a native of San Francisco. He knows the neighborhoods and all their nooks and crannies and idiosyncrasies both good and bad. We have bought and sold and lived in a number of homes over the years, and by far, Mike is the best real estate agent we have ever had. The best thing about Mike is that he listens. He understood what we wanted, a home where we could live but would also be a great rental/investment property; he meticulously produced candidates within our price range and taste, and then, set out to look at them with us. In these tours, he was patient and thorough. He looked at the homes and gave us advice with the eye of someone who might be buying the home himself, or as a friend, and not merely as someone who wished to complete a transaction. In the middle of our search, we shifted our focus from the southern part of the city to the north. Mike shifted gears with us, smoothly and easily, and once again, listened carefully to what we wanted. He quickly came up with another list of homes within our taste and budget, and this time, hit the jackpot, by helping us find a true jewel in Cow Hollow. He then navigated us through the bidding process, helping not only with the negotiations, but then guiding us through the arduous inspection process. With his help, we ended up purchasing a beautiful duplex and are deliriously happy at the achievement of a lifelong dream - a home in San Francisco. Mike will absolutely go the extra mile for you and here's an example: our son arrived in San Francisco earlier than expected in a driving rain and needed the keys to our new home. Mike was in the East Bay when I called him with a cry for help: he drove across the Bay Bridge - that bridge in any kind of weather is no picnic as you may know - and he met our son at the house to hand deliver the keys and complete the rescue. We are currently doing some renovation work on our newly-purchased home and Mike has been extremely generous with sharing his extensive contacts, even going the extra step again, this time, to set us up with a trusted contractor - a relationship he has cultivated over many years - who has come up with a plan within our timeframe and budget. Yulia was referred to me by the general contractor who worked on my home renovations and maintenance over the last 20 years and I was very happy with our experience selling our house in San Francisco's Miraloma Park neighborhood in the spring of 2025. Yulia showed strategic vision about how to position our house in the market, as well as great attention to detail and tenacity during the staging and deal negotiation process. Yulia walked through the house several times, assessed its strengths and weaknesses, assessed all the comps and prior sales in the neighborhood, and came up with a well thought-out pricing and marketing strategy to generate interest and create the right opportunity for multiple bids to reach our target price.
